Kingdom Business” premiered May 19th on BET+, starring gospel legend Yolanda Adams and singer/actress Serayah. The eight-episode series is receiving incredible feedback as must watch television.

Reigning gospel superstar, Denita Jordan played by Yolanda Adams, runs an in-house record label, Kingdom Records, in addition to acting as First Lady of First Kingdom Church, and is determined to guard her family and its many secrets at all cost.

Her husband Calvin Jordan may be the Bishop at First Kingdom, but Denita is the true leader, and she has little tolerance for insurrection among her family and employees (and ex-employees).

Just as Denita is enjoying the fruits of her labor, the world she’s worked so hard to put together begins to unravel when an unexpected contender in the gospel music scene, Rbel (Serayah), threatens her status. The rising star, with a checkered past as an exotic dancer — is no match for her destiny to turn the gospel world on its head with her newfound voice.

The series is UB Approved! Black excellence at it’s best! From the writing, vocal performances, featured guests, to the cast selection, “Kingdom Business” doesn’t miss!

It begins of sorts with Denita Jordan launching a new album, to compete with her classic debut “One Moment from Glory.

However there are things consumers and the industry are not aware of regarding credits on that album. This season gives viewers the backstory of Kingdom Records. Yolanda Adams playing a villain is worth watching alone, she embodies the role of Denita Jordan.

Serayah reminds us of why we fell in love with her on “Empire” as Rbel, who’s the daughter of someone from Denita‘s past.

Michael Beach also stars as Calvin Jordan, playing a role we’ve seen him in before, but never like this. Tamar Braxton delivers as well as Sasha, her secrets threaten to destroy the Kingdom.

Michael Jai White, La’Miya Good, Aspen Kennedy, Kiandra Richardson, Kajuana Shuford Marie and Sam Malone also appear in recurring roles.

The series is written and executive produced by Kerry Lenhart and JJ Sakmar.

Executive produced by Devon Franklin, Holly Carter, and Kirk Franklin.
