The short-lived late 80s R&B Uptown Records group The Gyrlz, featured duo Terri and Monica along with Tara Gete.

The groups debut album “Love Me Or Leave Me” was originally shelved via Capitol Records, but later released. Now for the first time it’s available to stream!

The group released the hit single “If It’s Games You’re Playing” and went out on the road as the opening act on the 1988/1989 N.E. Heartbreak Tour with New Edition, Bobby Brown and Al B. Sure!.

With Heavy D., Terri Robinson went on to write “Candy Rain,” “If You Want It,” and “Every Little Thing I Do” for Soul For Real and “I Miss You” for Monifah. She also co-wrote “Can’t You See” and “No One Else” for Total.

Terri and Monica recently made UB‘s “5 Times 90s R&B Revamped Remix’s…Were as Hot as The Original” list. With their 1992 single “Sexuality (If You Take Your Love)” produced by Timbaland featuring Missy Elliott.
