Dixson Taps Sevyn Streeter for ‘Cherry Sorbet’
Fresh off his Oscar-nominated song “Be Alive,” which he co-wrote with Beyoncé for the film “King Richard” and her performance of the record at this year’s Academy Awards, Dixson drops “Cherry Sorbet,” featuring Sevyn Streeter.
Dixson has quietly had a huge impact in entertainment making his mark across multiple genres. He has collaborated on projects with Chance The Rapper, Pharrell, Vic Mensa, Justin Bieber, YEBBA and others.
Dixson already released one solo project last year and “Cherry Sorbet” is a signal to old and new fans alike that there is more to come from this extraordinary artist and all-around music man. Dixson shares his vision of the song saying “Cherry Sorbet is the first offering from the new world I’m creating sonically. It’s got a Beatles sample and it’s still a little nasty. I call that a win/win!.”
Sevyn Streeter states “Cherry Sorbet is such a special record to me because it was created so organically one random night in LA. I was leaving an event with some friends, and we ended up stopping by Darius’ session and he pulled up this beat that my ears just fell in love with. I went in and laid melodies and then he and I kinda tag teamed and wrote it right there on the spot. We then added all the bells and whistles later. Darius is extremely talented, and he has bionic ears. He hears everything and he doesn’t create inside of a box. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to hear all his genius.”
