UB Preview: Ben Vereen Speaks on Will Smith & Chris Rock on ‘THE REAL’
It’s been a long week, post Oscars regarding the slap heard and seen across the world.
On “THE REAL” airing Monday, April 4th, actor Ben Vereen, who played Will Smith‘s father in “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air” and also played Chris Rock‘s father in the 2014 movie “Top Five,” speaks about the incident between them at the Oscars.
“All I can say is, let’s pray for them. Let’s pray for them. Let’s pray for the families. Let’s pray for the Williams family.” Ben Vereen continued, “Let’s keep the good vibes going. That was an incident and I have my personal feeling about it. I think they should have cut, as soon as Will had gotten up. I think the cameras should have cut, and we never should have seen that.”
This week we also saw Marlon Wayans take on the role of Lou, in Peacock‘s reimagined version “Bel-Air,” in the season finale.
Will Smith has since apologized and resigned from the motion picture academy.
