Final Trailer for ‘Respect’ | Coming to Theatres in August
The highly anticipated Aretha Franklin biopic “Respect,” is set for release on August 13th, 2021.
Starring Oscar and Grammy Award-winning Jennifer Hudson, who was handpicked by Aretha herself. Jenner Hudson states;
“Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, we know her as this legend but there is a story to everyone. Her life had so much depth to it, and it came through the music.”

Director Liesl Tommy makes her feature film debut with Respect. Tommy is the first Black woman ever nominated for a Tony award for Best Direction of a Play in 2016 for Eclipsed.
