Legendary producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis have just been announced to perform at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The “Optimistic” performance will take place from Prince‘s Paisley Park and include Sounds of Blackness and Ann Nesby.

The BBMAs air Live this Sunday, May 23rd at 8 P.M. ET / 5 P.M. PT on NBC.

The talented duo are preparing for their first album entitled “Jam & Lewis: Volume One.” One of the singles from the album includes the previous released, “‘Til I Found You” featuring Sounds of Blackness, Ann Nesby and the late great Big Jim.

While Jam and Lewis have spent their careers shaping the sounds of legendary musicians, Jam & Lewis: Volume One is the duo’s first compilation project.

Over the past three decades, Jam and Lewis have earned more than 100 gold, platinum, multi-platinum and diamond albums for their work with artists, such as Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Usher, Earth Wind and Fire, Gwen Stefani and Kanye West. In 2018, Jam and Lewis curated the 10-day Super Bowl Live music festival in their hometown of Minneapolis.

With Ann’s voice leading the way, the Sounds of Blackness went on to become one of the most nationally recognized gospel choirs in the world, generating the Top 10 Gospel/R&B hits “Optimistic”, “Testify” and “The Pressure”, earning two Grammy awards.

In 1996 again under Jimmy and Terry‘s Perspective Records umbrella Ann released her debut solo album “I’m Here For You”. The record solidified Ann’s individual talent generating the hit singles “I’m Still Wearing Your Name” and the emotional single “I’ll Do Anything For You”.
