Monica to Host ‘Infamy: When Fame Turns Deadly’ | Coming to VH1

VH1 has announced its new true crime series, “Infamy: When Fame Turns Deadly,” hosted by GRAMMY Award winning singer, songwriter, actress and VH1 fan favorite Monica, premiering Monday, June 7th at 10pm ET/PT; following the season premiere of Cartel Crew.

In the eight episode series, Monica, who knows firsthand what being in the spotlight can bring, explores celebrity cases where notoriety and fame turn fatal. Each episode unravels the mystery and the motives behind the crimes; revealing a dark side to being in the public eye when betrayal, jealousy and greed lead to tragedy.

Cases featured this season include the murder of NBA player Lorenzen Wright and the investigation of his shocking death; hip-hop artist on the rise Young Greatness, who was gunned down under mysterious circumstances in his hometown of New Orleans; a runway model found dead at the bottom of a swimming pool; and a popular Chicago radio personality targeted by someone nobody could expect.

Monica is a Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum Artist, 25-million+ selling singer, actress, philanthropist and entrepreneur.

She was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and began her career at the tender age of 12 years old. She’s the youngest female ever to have two #1 back – to- back hits on Billboard’s R&B chart from her 1995 debut album “Miss Thang.

Monica is the first artist ever to have #1 Billboard singles in three consecutive decades, which puts her in the elite company of history making superstars such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, James Brown and Marvin Gaye, whom also had similar accolades.

Monica also received the 2020 BET Soul Train Lady of Soul Award.
