Malachi Releases Mesmerizing New Single ‘Soul Is Mine’
R&B artist, Malachi has dropped his mesmerizing new single, “Soul Is Mine”, via 21 Entertainment/Republic Records.
The visual showcases the 22-year-old’s impressive vocal range more than ever before. The melodic ballad is driven by Malachi’s velvety smooth voice, which is further accentuated by the backdrop of adagio style piano.
“‘Soul is mine is about my first break up. Ending a long relationship was hard for me and it brought me to a dark place emotionally. But I wouldn’t be me if it wasn’t for the lesson I learned from that whole experience. I hope you can relate to it and know that after the heartbreak and loss, is healing and growth.”
Filmed in black and white, the Michael Garcia directed video sees Malachi sitting at the piano singing his expressively emotive lyrics while a single dancer en pointe moves in tune with the melody. Produced by Shiri Fauer and Bruno Breil, the video perfectly captures the tone of the powerful new track.
“Soul Is Mine” arrives as the first taste of new music from the rising young artist since his latest single, “Son of a Gun” released at the end of last year. 2019 also saw the release of Malachi’s debut mixtape, Bread Winner, and a number of stand out singles including, “We Don’t Mind”, “I Got You”, “San Fernando Wine”, and his major label debut single, “Right Now”.
