Houston Kendrick began singing at the age of 3. As a child he couldn’t ignore his melodic thoughts as he followed the basic pulse of kicking a soccer ball or noticed the more defined tempo of basketballs bouncing against the court. Houston’s linear thought processes grew with him and as he continued to realize he was truly wired for something musical, an irresistible desire to sing and perform ensued. Music became his first love and best friend.
Houston’s remarkably mature voice has garnered him incredible opportunities to perform solos at noteworthy events including the 50th Anniversary Observance of the Civil Rights Movement at Railroad Park in Birmingham, AL and the screening of “The Watsons Go To Birmingham” at the historic Alabama Theatre. Wowing judges and the audience alike, he became the 1st place soloist at the Capital City Classic Show Choir Competition in Montgomery, AL this year.
Drawing inspiration from artists like John Legend and Michael Jackson, Houston incorporates his heart into every note to make art that is genuine and organic. He strives to be an artist who enthralls his listeners with captivating sounds reflecting his love for music. Stay tuned for the release of his contemporary pop single, “Mine.”
