Maxine Jones has unveiled “Hero,” her rendition of Tina Turner’s classic “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” the theme song from the 1985 film “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.”
Produced by 2x Grammy nominated Herb Middleton, with Brian Martin serving as the executive producer, the track pays homage to Turner’s legendary original.
When discussing her inspiration, Maxine expressed her profound admiration for Tina Turner, emphasizing her as a significant musical influence. “I Love Tina Turner. She was hands down one of my biggest musical influences, so I’m thrilled and excited to be able to honor Tina in this way.”
The song was recorded in 2022 and is showcased in her live production, “A Love Letter to Tina Turner,” the cover serves as a moving and heartfelt homage to the iconic music figure.
“Hero” was recorded at Jones and Martin’s StarMAX Studios.
