Reality show star turned R&B powerhouse K Michelle’s, meteoric rise towards success continues to defy the odds. With her first top 20 single, “Very Special” rocking the airwaves all over the country, there’s no wonder she continues to sell out venues in every city she visits. “Rebellious Soul,” K Michelle’s highly anticipated debut album, drops on August 13th, with tracks like “When I Find A Man, “Damn”, and A Mother’s Prayer,” (full track listing below). About the album, K Michelle said: “I’ve been writing this album my whole life. These are my stories and I’m so excited to share them. I am so blessed to have the opportunity to present my talents with the world. I appreciate the platform given to me and plan on growing with my fans for a long time.” This honest and heartfelt collection of songs, is a true reflection of the artistry, raw emotion and musicality that has built her a cult following.

The album is available for pre-order on iTunes and offers the soul stirring “I Don’t Like Me,” immediately upon order. About this very vulnerable track, K Michelle says: “I am aware of how the truth of my music helps women through difficult times in their lives. I have become their voice. We share similar experiences. Some, just don’t know how to express it. That is my gift.” Fans anxious for a sneak peak, can download an album sampler. Having begun her career as a classically trained pianist and completing college on a yodeling scholarship, K Michelle continues to confound the naysayers with her endless talent and versatility.

After countless requests from fans all over the world for more music, VH1 began streaming “Rebellious Soul.” Fans can get the leak at: www.kmichelle.vh1.com. Also to fans delight, K Michelle will be performing the smash “Very Special” during the “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” reunion show, airing the same evening.

Keeping in the spirit of the album’s title, “Rebellious Soul,” K Michelle has chosen to use the release of this album to impact the lives of the fans that have been drawn to her because of her openness with her own story of survival. The “Rebel Against” campaign was born out of the need to encourage fans to face head on and speak out against those social and personal hurdles. K Michelle had this to say about her efforts: “The “Rebel Against” campaign is so near to my heart. It was designed to help empower my fans to speak out against those things that have oppressed them. The response has been out of this world. Conversations are starting. And that’s where the change begins.” This national campaign has paired K Michelle with youth and woman’s organization and will spark career long town halls, conversations and events. 1. Gotta give it to K. Michelle she is using her the platform in which she was given to promote her music..her brand. She’s been on her grind for real. “V.S.O.P” is cool, I could see myself buying the album.
