UB First Listen: Malachi Rivers Debuts “Wind Parade” feat. Emily Braden
It was just one year ago that Hip Hop artist Malachi Rivers released his debut EP Stereo Sound Escapes. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of releasing his debut EP, Malachi Rivers shifts into gear and releases his new single “Wind Parade” featuring Emily Braden. “Wind Parade” serves at the lead single off his untitled mixtape due later this year.
“Wind Parade” is the ultimate retro summer Hip Hop song, period. Sampling Jazz and Funk music legend Donald Byrd’s “Wind Parade,” the track produced by Chicago bred Jovia Armstrong, reminds you of the golden era of Hip Hop. Malachi manages to coast the soulful track with a witty and commanding flow that welcomes the smooth yet trumpet like voice of Jazz and Soul singer Emily Braden. “I wanted a song that made people feel the way I feel when I hear DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince’s “Summertime”. That song always makes me feel good and lets me know it’s time to enjoy life. I even wanted to capture the essence of his chill laid black flow on that song” says the engaging rapper.
