UB Exclusive: Faith Evans Presents “R&B Divas” The Album — Series Premiere Monday

Starting this upcoming Monday August 20th, fans of singers Faith Evans, Nicci Gilbert, Monifah Carter, Syleena Johnson and KeKe Wyatt will get an exclusive look into their lives when TV One debuts “R&B Divas” at 10PM (eastern). The eight-episode, one-hour series is filmed primarily in Atlanta, with additional shooting in Washington, DC, New York and New Orleans. R&B Divas takes you inside the lives of these music stars as they work, play and struggle to get their lives and careers back on track. Brought together by their friendship and love of R&B diva Whitney Houston, these incredible singers are dealing with everything from divorce to drugs and sexuality.

In support of the show Faith Evans is releasing “R&B Divas” an album inspired by the series. UrbanBridgez.com has learned the first single from the album entitled “Tears of Joy” performed by Faith will be serviced to radio shortly. Faith‘s cast members appear on the album as well as some other “R&B Divas” like Fantasia & Kelly Price. Claude Kelly, Shep Crawford and Gordon Chambers are some of the producers on the set. Some of the tracks include “True Colors” recorded by Faith, Kelly Price & Fantasia, “She Is Me” recorded by Monifah, “Mr. Superfly” recorded by Keke Wyatt, “Lovin Me” and “Sister Friend” recorded by the cast of R&B Divas and an acoustic version of one of Faith‘s biggest hits “Soon As I Get Home.”

The album will hit stores on October 2nd via eOne and a tour is planned in support of the album and series in October!

  5. I listened to the disc after I bought it. The disc is Inspirational with Secular songs. The songs are for people who are in different areas in their lives. True Colors Used to be a commercial. True Colors is a nice song for discouraged people. I admire Fantasia been on the song. I also admire the live songs. She’s Me is not for me because I’m not gay or in a abustive relationship.
