Mia X: “Things My Grandma Told Me, Things My Grandma Showed Me”

After releasing a trio of critically lauded solo outings; Good Girl Gone Bad in 1995, ’97‘s gold selling Unlady Like and her most successful effort-to-date, Mama Drama, that following year, veteran New Orleans, Louisiana, rap-stress Mia X, nee’ Young, quietly stepped away from the rap game. Now, over thirteen long years later, and the former No Limit Records‘ femcee has triumphantly returned, only this time around the self professed “Mama Mia” is, pardon the pun, cooking up quite a few different things…Check the menu!

After contributing a few of her very delicious recipes, many of which were adopted from her beloved granny, “Mamaw,” to select national magazines, most notably Complex and Glam, Mia has since secured her very own food column with “The World’s Most Dangerous Site,” All Hip-Hop, which “officially” launched 12/12, where she will continue to share her scrumptious meal ideas. In her debut entry, and just in time for the holiday season, Mia offers up one of her personal favorite dishes, Southern Dirty Rice. Yum!

In addition, the Unladylike Diva is currently prepping for the launch of her first cookbook/memoir, appropriately titled, Things My Grandma Told Me, Things My Grandma Showed Me, which will be released as a CD/DVD companion project, with its soundtrack serving as her long overdue musical comeback. The lead single is slated to be the title track of her debut literary work. Mia X is also in the midst of shopping around her own reality show vehicle, In The Kitchen With Mama Mia, which will cover all topics at hand; food, life, and, of course, music.

Things My Grandma Told Me, Things My Grandma Showed Me is scheduled to be unveiled in early 20-12! Stay tuned…
