Jon B. Releases New Single ‘Waiting on You’ + Announces New Album Release

Lead Single Featuring Tank from Upcoming Ninth Studio Album.

In preparation for the release of his upcoming ninth studio album “Waiting on You,” singer, songwriter, producer, and musician Jon B., has debuted his new single “Waiting on You” featuring Tank.

The 11-track album is slated for release in 2024 and features additional collaborations from Rick Ross, Donell Jones, and Alex Isley.

Subsequent to their first collaboration in 2004 on Jon B.‘s song and album “Stronger Everyday,” “Waiting on You” was written and produced by Jon B. and Tank. His first new release since 2019‘s “Priceless,” Jon B.‘s goal was to have the single reflect where he is in life.

Waiting on You” describes the feeling of anticipating love in your life; the seasons of waiting,” states Jon B.No matter the timing, even when it seems like it’s taking forever, you have to be patient for your partner in life. Not giving up makes it all worth the wait.

From the upcoming album, fans, and avid listeners can expect a continuation of his artistic expression and musicianship that has captivated the hearts of R&B enthusiasts since his debut album “Bonafied.”

Jon B. recently performed at WBLS’ Circle of Sisters concert starring Babyface at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, hosted by Al B Sure! and DJ Funk Flex.

In 2004, UB interviewed Jon B. via our then brand T M H for his “Stronger Everyday” album release. At the time we asked him what was the most frustrating aspect of being a recording artist? “The bullshit that goes along with it. Promoting yourself to the next level. Having the light you want to be shined on you instead of the light the media wants to shine on you. Basically not to be made to look like an idiot.

We went on to have him tell us his favorite songs he had recorded at that time; “This is coming off the top of my head, let’s see. “Through The Fire,” “Burning 4 You” from the “Bonafied” album. “Cool/Relax,” “Can’t Help it” and “What in the World.” I have a lot of favorites that I recorded with rappers that a lot of people don’t know about. Like with Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg. A lot of soundtrack songs that didn’t really jump off. That’s some of my best work to me. It’s amazing for me to work with people that I look up to and are such big fans of like Jay-Z. One of the best songs I’ve done was with Jay & Coko for the Hav Plenty soundtrack.

Jon B. is a consummate artist, an accomplished musician and a noted songwriter and producer with several gold and platinum records under his belt. His richly textured body of music is a testament to a man’s love for all things soul.

His beginnings were seasoned by early influences including Duran Duran, Inxs, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Babyface, Prince and Sade. With a career spanning over 25 years, Jon B.‘s production and songwriting abilities continue to grow with the times.
