MTV, MTV2, mtvU, BET and Centric today announced that the networks will exclusively premiere JAY-Z and Kanye West’s new music video, “Otis,” from their debut collaborative album Watch the Throne on Thursday, August 11th at 8:56pm ET/PT, and simultaneously on MTV.com. Immediately following the premiere, the music video will air on MTV Jams and MTV Hits. In addition, MTV2 will encore the music video premiere on Thursday night at 11pm ET/PT.

Kicking off on Wednesday, August 10th at 4pm ET on MTV.com, MTV News’ RapFix Live will feature special commentary from industry experts on Watch the Throne and the forthcoming music video. In addition, JAY-Z and Kanye will get the full MTV takeover treatment on Thursday, including Watch the Throne themed video blocks during AMTV (MTV, 8am -9am ET/PT) and AMTV2 (MTV2, 7am – 8am ET/PT), wall-to-wall coverage and viewer/expert anticipation and reaction on MTV News, pop-culture commentary on MTV Buzzworthy and expert fashion analysis on MTV Style, as well as video blocks throughout the day on mtvU, MTV Jams and MTV Hits.

“Otis” is the lead track from The Throne’s album Watch the Throne, an extraordinary once-in-a-lifetime Roc-A-Fella / Def Jam Recordings / Roc Nation album collaboration, that is built upon a sample of “Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding. The album is currently number one on iTunes in 23 countries, received a 4-star review in USA Today, and was lauded in The New York Times as an album that “forsakes the epic for the idiosyncratic, it tempers its bombast with both reflection and inventiveness.”
