Who is Luke James?

WHO IS LUKE JAMES? BEYONCE, CHRIS BROWN, JUSTIN BIEBER & BRITNEY KNOW…

Singer / songwriter Luke James has inked a record deal to release his debut album and pre album as a solo artist. Both projects, entitled Made To Love, will mark the New Orleans native’s debut on Mercury Records / Island Def Jam via New Age Rock Star Records (NARS), the label helmed by award-winning producer Danja (Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Keri Hilson) and long-time collaborator / mixing engineer Marcella Araica (Madonna, Pink, Timbaland).

But just who is Luke James? Hardly new to the music industry, Luke James is the co-writer of Chris Brown’s “Crawl” and has penned songs for Justin Bieber (“That Should Be Me”) and Britney Spears (“Kill The Lights”), among others. And his growing fan base includes none other than Beyoncé, who selected him for a featured role in her “Run the World” video. Yet it is Luke James’ real-deal approach to music and—more important—the craft of singing that will be the main attractions on Made To Love. Packed with interesting breaks and tempo shifts, the sparse yet bright lead single, “I Want You,” beautifully illustrates Luke James’ mastery of the R&B genre as it pulsates with an infectious, hip-hop-influenced beat. This foundation provides the perfect complement to his pure, arresting falsetto, which is poised to situate this rising star as the one to watch on the R&B / Pop scene.

At a private industry showcase at Dominion NYC on August 3, 2011, Luke James teased a selection of tracks off Made To Love winning over the hearts of music executives, tastemakers, journalists and celebrities in attendance, like DJ Khaled, Claude Kelly, Chuck Harmony, X-Factor UK runner-up Rebecca Ferguson, Frank Gatson, Danja, Barry Weiss, David Massey, etc.
