UB Review: MTV’s “Son of A Gun” Premieres April 28th

Son of A Gun: Cory Gunz, a rapper who previously had two major record deals with Casablanca and Def Jam, is getting his last big shot in the hard-knock world of hip-hop. The son of previously famed Peter Gunz is primed to take his career to places his father was never able to go. Before his journey can begin, Cory must overcome some major problems with family and business that seem to be bubbling at the surface. First up is choosing which record label to go with and then how to assemble the team around him.

However, in this industry, the lines between family, friends and business can easily be blurred. This is his last chance to show and prove that he has what it takes. In the end, this journey will be one he has to complete on his own.

Didn’t know that Peter Gunz of hit song “Uptown Baby” fame had a next of kin? Well now you do and so will the rest of the world once Corey Gunz’ new series “Son of A Gun” makes its mark on MTV.

Most recently known for his feature on Billboard chart topping “6 foot 7” spearheaded by Lil Wayne, Corey Gunz isn’t new to this wacky business called the entertainment industry. Gunz had several label deals prior to now including being signed at a young age by Mr. Roc Nation himself, Jay-Z. After making little to no progress underneath the helm of HOV, Gunz continued to climb the ladder of success.

His recent effort to make his popular mark in the rap game leaves us with a cinematic journey in his new MTV series. Fans and newcomers alike can anticipate getting to know the hustle, work ethic and extreme devotion that Corey Gunz instills to make it to the top.

One of the many highlights in this reality series includes Corey Gunz personal and business relationship with his father who has also entertained in the rap game. Viewers will also get to see the behind-the-scenes bidding wore that takes place behind Nick Cannon and the Young Money conglomerate, YMCMB. Nick Cannon will also engage in an interesting game of tug-of-war with Gunz’ entertainment lawyer. The two are very adamant over who will take the title of manager as it concerns Corey Gunz.

All in all, “Son of A Gun” provides more than enough reasons for Hip-hop and music fans to tune in to watch Corey Gunz and his interesting journey on Thursday April 28 at 11/10c.
