Meet-N-Greet Q & A: Andre Mieux

Andre Mieux is a multi-talented singer/songwriter/producer who graduated with a major in Digital Media/Audio Recording and now is pursuing a degree in Communications. Andre received scholarships from Cal Arts and Long Beach State College. Aside from his academic career, he has also been under the instruction of Dr. Marge Chen for the last 13 years for classical piano. Andre grew up in a very musical family, with his extended relatives a part of the Philharmonic(s), Fox TV, and several other major placements in music production and film. As early as the age of 8, Andre lit the spark of what he would one day call his career. Andre started writing, dancing and singing for a small group called Eagle Wings through his local church in West Covina, CA. By age 12, Andre had begun producing music with a friend, Grammy winning former member of the Yellowjackets, Ricky Lawson, who turned out to be one of his greatest connections to the music industry.

From there, Andre has been a part of a wide range of projects throughout his career from classical pianist to scoring the feature film, Wigger. Recently, he has had the privilege of working with award winning music video director Tim Cruz, on his new video for Off In The Club. In addition, his song Let Me Be The One became a hit once picked up by the Korean group SS501. He also has worked with Showtime Television on Stunt Divas and Sid Burston Productions on Get Thee Behind Me. He was a member of Trilogy Productions, whose team was responsible for placements on such projects as Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Akon, Jill Scott, Varsity FanClub, T-Boz, Keith Sweat, Dave Hollister, Bobby Valentino, Nick Lachey, 112, Nina Sky, Master P, DREAM, and 504 Boyz.

Andre is currently in the studio putting the final mixes on his upcoming EP, Top Of The World to be released this year.

Who are your three biggest musical influences?
My three biggest influences are Michael Jackson, R. Kelly and Stevie
Wonder.

Describe your sound in 5 words or less.
Urban. Electro. Pop. Love. Pain.

You play piano! When did you learn to play?
I learned to play piano at age 4. I still incorporate the piano into
my music, live shows and of course my YouTube videos.

You have some acapella videos on YouTube? What other songs are you
playing to cover? I know R. Kelly is a favorite of yours!

I’m planning to cover Chris Brown’s “With You”. I really love the way
that song makes people feel.

How did your first single, “Off In The Club” come about and what’s
the story behind it?

“Off In The Club” came about from wanting to create a dance track
that would make people feel good. When people watch the video they’ll
understand the energy and message behind the song.

Which song on your album holds the most meaning to you?
A song called “Top of the World”. The lyrics are really powerful. “I
can feel the love on top of the Eiffel Tower.”

  1. Can I simply say what a reotucidn to find someone who truly knows what theyre speaking about on the internet. You positively know how one can convey a difficulty to gentle and make it important. Extra people have to read this and understand this aspect of the story. I cant imagine youre not more popular since you positively have the gift.
