Kelly Price Set to Release “Kelly” on May 3rd

As Kelly Price gears up to release her sixth album, KELLY, on May 3, 2011, she is enjoying the growing success of her recently released single, “Not My Daddy.” The new single, which debuted at #20 last week on iTunes, features production and vocals by Mint Condition’s Stokley Williams and is sizzling at radio, approaching a Top 10 spot. “Not My Daddy” is the follow up to the GRAMMY®-nominated single, “Tired.”

The vocal synergy between Kelly Price and Stokley Williams, coupled with the live instrumentation of Mint Condition, shine on the compelling “Not My Daddy” ballad. Kelly Price delivers music that draws a deep connection with her audience. The song is poised to be an emotional anthem this summer.

“This song literally wrote itself, which happens to me every once in a while,” Kelly Price explains. “The melody came to me first and then I envisioned a live band to truly impact my audience and that’s when I called up Stokley. We made this song to encourage lovers to get back to being lovers. Stop parenting one another and just love each other.”

The new R&B album, KELLY, will feature additional production by Warryn Campbell, Shep Crawford, Jazz Nixon and Lawrence Waddell.

In addition to the success of “Not My Daddy,” and the anticipation of the forthcoming album, it was recently announced that Kelly Price has been added to the stellar line up of performers at the 2011 Essence Music Festival, which takes place this July 1-3 in New Orleans. The Essence Music Festival will celebrate the roots of R&B and will feature over a dozen acts from all genres of R&B. Kelly Price will be a featured performer among other artists including: Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, Jill Scott, Trey Songz, Boyz II Men, Charlie Wilson, Fantasia, Stephanie Mills, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, Macy Gray, Mavis Staples, to name a few. The Essence Music Festival connects music, culture and community.
