BET’s THE GAME & Celebration of Gospel 2011

Following BET Networks‘ successful syndicate acquisition in February 2009 and hearing the tremendous response from fans, the “San Diego Sabers” and their significant others will make a return to television on BET on Tuesday, January 11 at 10:00 p.m.* with the hour-premiere of the 4th season of THE GAME.

When the series first premiered, Melanie was a first-year medical school student who gave up an offer of admission to medical school in order to follow her boyfriend Derwin, a first year rookie with a professional football team, to San Diego, against the advice of her parents.

When Melanie settled into her new life, she met Tasha, the mother of Sabers’ starting quarterback Malik, and Kelly the wife of Sabers’ captain Jason. Both of whom immediately warn her to keep a close eye on her boyfriend because of the numerous “gold diggers” who target professional football players.

The BET premiere of THE GAME picks up where things left off at the end of season three. Viewers will join the team two years later with Derwin Davis (Pooch Hall) and Melanie Barnett-Davis (Tia Mowry Hardict) as the celebrity “IT” couple; Derwin is now the star he had always dreamed of becoming and Melanie has willingly traded in her residency for the demands of being a superstar’s wife. The ever opinionated and outspoken Tasha Mack (Wendy Raquel Robinson) continues to make her mark in the field of sports management now that she has rebuilt Derwin’s career; Kelly Pitts (Brittany Daniel) – the former Mrs. Jason Pitts –tries to finesse her past as a footballer’s wife to leverage a lucrative future in reality television. Meanwhile, former San Diego Sabers’ star team captain, Jason Pitts (Coby Bell) has found a new career in sports commentating. The fun-loving Malik Wright (Hosea Chanchez) continues to be the life of the party, but will he take things too far this time around? Fans can once again join their favorite team in the end zone as season four will surely not disappoint.

It was a night filled with the Holy Spirit and high notes reaching the heavens as audience members rejoiced at the CELEBRATION OF GOSPEL ’11. 1. The game is the show. and Derwin need to play a regular guy; indstead of the producers giving him the role as a Christian on the show. I think the regular guy fits his role better to me.
I can’t wait to see what plots these individuals have for the televisison screen.
I hope the plots are realistic keeping me watching on the night it comes on BET network.
I’m looking forward to the Gosepl 2011 seening Whitney perform I Look to you with Kim. Whitney need to perform a song by her self. I ,miss seeing her on television since her album came out last year.

  2. can’t wait to see Ms. Whitney and Kim on the COG. I love Whitney and ‘I look to you’ is really an inspiring song

  3. I thought the first epoisode was only ok. It had some funny seious
Parts to. And I didn’t care for Jason Kelly daughter. The girl who played their daughter fit the part better. She look more like them for her to play there t.v. daughter.
BET don’t need a sassy teen to me. It seem like she trying to hard to be a smart ass teen.
What happened to Kelly character? I want to know that too.
Rick fox don’t act anymore. Everyone know Brittney is going to have a reality show coming out. Her making of her reality show don’t need to be shown on television.
Kelly seem like she trying to dress like thee 80’s.
Terrance acted good as Tasha man. Other folks fitted their parts correctly. Writers don’t need melanie acting up over that baby again. The writers is trying to made her jealous of him. Last season she kept going on and on about thee child. Melanie charecter gets old fast. Driving folks away from the show. I still watch this new season 4.
All of them were funny on Monique Wendy. All of them have vivid personlitys living well.
