New VH1 Reality Shows Starring Singer Olivia & Actress Jackee Harry

When people think of the hip hop life, they think of the players – the men who shape the music and the blinged-out lifestyle that comes with success. The fact is the hip hop life is different for the women involved: the spouses, girlfriends or artists trying to define themselves in a world where men are still calling the shots. VH1‘s new, 8-part docu-soap series “Love & Hip Hop” follows four dynamic women who are connected to the world of hip hop, whether it’s through the men they love, or their struggle to be heard as an artist. “Love & Hip Hop” provides a dramatic, funny and sometimes heartbreaking look into the female side of the New York hip hop life as these four women try to claim their own place in it.

Chrissy Lampkin, girlfriend to hip hop star Jim Jones, and Emily Bustamante, girlfriend to rapper Fabolous, are waiting for their men to put a ring on it; however, both men suffer from a severe case of commitment phobia. Olivia Longott, the former first lady of G Unit, is done living in the shadows and is determined to make it on her own as a solo artist. Like Olivia, Somaya “Boss” Reese, a tall, sexy Latina, also has a fierce determination to launch her rap career and become a household name in the music industry. Will these four women have the endurance and fortitude to survive the chaos of the hip hop game and realize their dreams? Watch it unfold when “Love & Hip Hop” premieres Monday, March 21.

Olivia spoke to UrbanBridgez.com last year about the show, check out what she had to say!

Get ready for your blowout! VH1 has an appointment at the exclusively swanky and ritzy Elgin Charles Salon, which is the only African-American beauty salon located in the heart of Beverly Hills. Featured in VH1’s newest series, “Beverly Hills Fabulous,” The Elgin Charles Salon, owned and managed by the one and only Elgin Charles, is a magnet for the who’s who of celebrity clientele. The self-proclaimed, “Emperor of Hair,” will stop at nothing to globalize his hair empire and secure “Elgin Charles” as a household name by perfecting his formulas for his renowned hair care products and expanding his line to reach the masses. The series features Elgin who has his hands full with his celebrity studded salon, his three highly skilled, but high maintenance stylists, his ex-wife, comedic actress Jackee Harry and their 16-year-old son Frank, who is an aspiring football star at Beverly Hills High School.

Premiering on Monday, March 21 viewers will meet Elgin’s over-the-top styling team, Sean Cameron, an outspoken bleached blonde, the boisterous and outspoken Lolita “Lo” Goods and country-girl-in-the-big-city Katrina Atkinson, who are all just as ambitious as Elgin and add to the madness at the Elgin Charles Salon. VH1’s “Beverly Hills Fabulous” will be sure to righteously entertain as the cameras go behind the scenes of the African-American beauty shop following Elgin’s quest to create his hair empire, hitting the Beverly Hills boutiques and restaurants with his crew, all while living as glamorously as their clients.

    1. Angela you know the show is going to have to do with men problems. Chrissy knew Fabulous had commitment issues in the first place and the other women too. I still want to see the show and see if these men will marry them.
The problmes in the hip-hop music industy will work out for them at the end of the day.
