FX has revealed the teaser for “Dear Mama.” Coming to FX later this year.
A five-part cinematic television event exploring two voices, activist Afeni Shakur and hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur, two voices that could not be silenced.
From Emmy Award-nominated director Allen Hughes. Yes, of the Hughes brothers, who Pac was accused of assaulting in 1994. Before the drama stemming from “Menace II Society,” Allen and his brother Albert worked with Tupac in the early 1990s, directing the video for “Brenda’s Got A Baby.”
Told through the eyes of the people who knew them best, “Dear Mama” is an intimate wide-angle portrait of the most inspiring and dangerous mother-son duo in American history, whose unified message of freedom, equality, persecution and justice are more relevant today than ever.
