The show was written by award-winning actress and MC, Queen Latifah, and revolves around the romantic relationships of three friends fulfilling the void of CW’s Girlfriends and HBO’s Sex and the City reported Vibe.com.
“When Girlfriends got off the TV we didn’t have anything else to relate to,” said McCoy to Vibe. “This would be something else as a series so we can do more and be a little bit more risqué.”
Dash, who starred in Clueless, will play a celebrity stylist who is single for the first time in her life. Something that Dash can relate to, “my character is very similar to my own life because I’ve never been single. Literally, since I’ve been 17 years old,” she said.
McCoy, who starred in The Player’s Club, The Wood and the CW’s All of Us, is a bit more experienced than Dash’s character.
“She doesn’t have one of anything nor does she believe in having one man. She’s much like Samantha of Sex and the City,” LisaRaye told Vibe.
There isn’t word yet on when Single Ladies will premiere.
