JLS Prepares for ‘U.S. Debut’

Having made a name for themselves after appearing on Simon Cowell’s highly rated series “The X Factor” in 2008, the London-based teen pop sensation JLS continues to gain widespread popularity in the U.K. as demonstrated by their meteoric rise on the charts. Last year, their self-titled debut album topped the album charts, selling over one million copies in two months and spawning two No.1 smash hits, “Everybody In Love” and “Beat Again,” which became the fastest selling debut single of the 2009 ahead of Lady Gaga in the U.K..

Everybody In Love” and “Beat Again” singles have claimed the No. 1 position on the U.K. singles and radio airplay charts. Additionally the “Beat Again” and “Everybody In Love” videos have also reached the No. 1 spots on key video formats. Known for their catchy songs, choreographed dances, dynamic stage presence and undeniable talent JLS has already earned two prestigious MOBO awards, one recognizing them as “Best Newcomer.”

Formed in 2007, JLS consists of Aston, “JB,” Marvin and Oritsé. Born and raised in England the four boys, who have taken the U.K. musical landscape by storm, are now ready to arrive stateside with their collection of catchy pop lyrics and songs. Newly signed to established pop powerhouse, Jive Records, JLS hopes to redefine pop music in the new decade by making their mark like their label predecessors Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and Britney Spears in the 90’s. Poised and ready for success the foursome will release their first US single “Everybody In Love” soon.

Most recently, JLS was nominated for three Brit Awards in the categories of “British Breakthrough Act,” “British Single” and “Best British Group.” Additionally, upcoming tour dates in the U.K. sold out in just 24 hours.

If 2009 was a breakout year for JLS, 2010 is shaping up to further establish the group’s popularity and extend their incredible winning streak worldwide.
