EXCLUSIVE: BET Hip-Hop Awards 09′

UrbanBridgez.com attended the 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards held tonight in Atlanta. Our first time attending since the first show in 2006. This years show is defiantly a step up from previous years. As far as the appearances, performances and surprises! The show doesn’t air till October 27, 2009 8PM/7C on BET. With that said, we here at UrbanBridgez.com don’t want to give too much away!

Some of the highlights included the opening by Jay Z & a surprise guest, the performance started the evening off right! Other performances of the night included Snoop Dogg with The-Dream, Mario, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane (who performed more than once), Ludacris, Jim Jones, Plies and more! Other highlights included Mike Epps who hosted the show for the first time. Katt Williams is entertaining as host, but viewers will enjoy Mike more for this years show. The cyphers are crazy this year, we’ll just say keep a look out for Joe Budden and Nicki Minaj who both ripped it during the sessions! Other highlights included Fatima and Ice Cube both receiving much deserved awards, Chuck D presented Ice Cube with the I AM Hip-Hop Award, Cube delivered a great acceptance speech as well! Goodie Mob (including Cee-Lo), Kid-N-Play and Missy who received a special award and dedicated it to the late great Aaliyah, all make appearances as well!
