Hurricane Chris, the rapper who’s multi-million selling hit single “A Bay Bay” became a national catchphrase, is on course to duplicate that success with his new single “Halle Berry (She’s Fine)” featuring Superstaar, an infectious track dedicated in part, to the Academy Award winning actress.
Currently breaking through the Rap Charts at #15, “Halle Berry (She’s Fine)” and its associated dance, is a popular south regional hit that received national exposure when the actress danced to the tune on a recent episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Days after that appearance, Myspace streams of the track skyrocketed to 150% and the Halle and Ellen video clip was the #3 most viewed music video clip on YouTube with over 330,000 views.
While the song is titled after the actress, it’s more of a dedication to strong, beautiful women everywhere. “A ‘Halle Berry’ is a woman that keeps her hair did, her nails did,” explains Hurricane Chris. “A ‘Halle Berry’ keeps her body up, fresh outfit on. But she also handles her business and still got class. That’s what a ‘Halle Berry’ is all about.”
The recently shot video will feature Hurricane Chris and Superstaar, along with cameos from Lil’Boosie, Play-N-Skillz, Big Chief and Trai*D.
“Halle Berry (She’s Fine)” is one of the many tracks to be featured on Hurricane Chris’ sophomore disc, Unleashed, set for a July 28th release. Unleashed represents the freedom the 19 year-old Shreveport native has to flex his creative lyrical muscles over tracks produced by Play-N-Skillz, Justice League, The Inkredibles, Phunk Dawg, Jim Jonsin and others. Guest appearances by Mario, Bobby Valentino and more are also slated for Unleashed.
